Bush, Stem Cell Research, and Brave New World

April 16th, 2008

“A few days later, I brought into the Oval Office my copy of Brave New World, Aldous Huxley’s 1932 anti-utopian novel, and as I read passages aloud imagining a future in which humans would be bred in hatcheries, a chill came over the room.”

-Jay Lefkowitz, President Bush’s Stem Cell Advisor, on why President Bush vetoed Stem Cell Research

Personally, I think the part that upset him most was when he realized he wouldn’t be going to Iceland anytime soon.

Heroes

Some dissenters tell me that Claire is by far the worst super hero on the show “Heroes.” I tend to disagree. The character, in my humble opinion, has great potential. They just need to develop her the right way.

Here’s what needs to happen: Adamantium Transfusion! Worked wonders for Wolverine, made him the most beloved of the X-Men. Without it he’d be just another faceless canook.

For example here’s Claire as she is now:

Claire Before

and Claire afterwards:

Claire After

That would be awesome.

Argh, I am so totally upset that my blog and all two posts have been disposed of. Seriously. I’m pretty distraught, I might have to write a livejournal about this. (//_-)

Okay, now the angsting is out of the way, new mission statement: Purpose of blog shall be for I (the blogger) to deliver unto you (hapless reader) my own commentary, suggestions and unique* blend of humor about life and the world at large.

Now if you’ll excuse me I have some poetry to write.
